Scott & Cassie Donellan

Scott Donnellan

Scott has more than 25 years of ministry experience, including as Minister at Port Macquarie Presbyterian Church since 1997.

“It’s been my privilege to serve as the minister, in partnership with my wife Cassie,” Scott says.

“Our passion is to share the gospel, teach the Bible, and help others to honour God in their lives,” he says.

Growing up in a non-Christian family, Scott recalls the joy he experienced when the Gospel was first explained to him.

“I didn’t need convincing that the world, and my life, wasn’t the way God intended it to be. So, it was stunning to hear that God’s Son Jesus had died to pay for all my sin, and that forgiveness was now on offer. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse.”

Cassie became a Christian during her teenage years growing up in Kuala Lumpur. Her initial curiosity about the origins of Christmas led to some unexpected answers about a God who loved us so much that He sent His Son into our world. The message of forgiveness and peace with God was compelling.

Scott’s theological training includes qualifications from Moore Theological College and Christ College, both in Sydney.

Cassie and Scott have two adult children, Andrew and Elissa.

Peter & Joanne Charles

Peter Charles

Ask Peter to tell you something important about him, and he’ll say the most significant thing is that he is a disciple of Jesus.

Growing up in Port Macquarie, Peter spent much of his formative years thinking through the ultimate questions of life – where the world came from; where is it going; and what is our purpose.

“I began to read about Jesus and His life through the gospel of John, and came to trust in him as my Lord and Saviour,” Peter says.

It’s no surprise then that Peter’s ministry in the church includes young adults, as well as running junior and senior youth group with his wife Jo-Anne. They have also raised five children.

Peter is a former school teacher and school chaplain, who manages a building company. Having completed his Bachelor of Theology at Christ College, Peter now serves as Assistant Minister at Port Macquarie Presbyterian Church.

Benjamin Shuhyta

Benjamin serves our church as a pastoral assistant, while also studying theology at Christ College.

Growing up in a non-Christian family in Sydney, Benjamin came to learn about Jesus Christ through public school scripture classes. In the years that followed, he went on to become a broadcast journalist, working for various media outlets, while also serving his church as a Bible study leader and preacher.

“It’s my passion to encourage people to know the love of Jesus, and to help them show that love in their work and family life,” Benjamin says.

Benjamin is married to Renee, and they have two children.
